Jacob's
Creek Tour Down Under, Adelaide, South Australia
15-20 January 2002
The Jacob's Creek Tour Down Under is
an international road cycling race staged over six days, featuring
stage starts and finishes in key locations throughout Adelaide
and the country regions of South Australia. The event features
professional cycling teams as seen in the Tour de France and
other major European races. Competitors from Italy, Germany,
France and Australia make the Jacob's Creek Tour Down Under
the biggest international cycling event of its kind in the
Southern Hemisphere. More than 500,000 spectators watched
the event in 2001, with an estimated crowd of 100,000 crowding
the city streets of Adelaide on day six to watch South Australia's
Stuart O'Grady win his second Tour Down Under in three years.

The biennial Adelaide Festival of Arts
has an international reputation for innovation and is one
of the world's great arts festivals. The wonderful 2002 program
will include music, theatre, dance, visual art exhibitions,
free outdoor events, locally made films, food and music, an
architecture program, Adelaide Writers' Week, plus a variety
of masterclasses, forums and late night venues.

Australian Outback Cattle Drive, Birdsville, Queensland
to Marree, South Australia
4 - 9 June 2002
A genuine horseback cattle drive through
the heart of the Australian Outback, in a recreation of one
of the past's most epic journeys. Staged over six weeks with
a variety of droving tours available including three, four,
seven and eleven night packages. Originates in Birdsville,
Queensland, and concludes at Marree in South Australia.

to Adelaide Bushwalk, South Australia
1 July - 30 September 2002
One of the great walking trails in Australia
and the world, the Heyson Trail coevers 2,000 kilometres of
South Australia's most picturesque bushwalking country, traversing
the length ot the arid and spectacular Flinder's Ranges in
the Norh down to the lush and beautiful Mt. Lofty Ranges in
the south. The trail originates in the rugged and isolated
Flinders Ranges in the great Australian Outback. The walking
route heads south, crossing huge sheep and cattle stations,
ranges of ancient red quarzite, deep gorges and the occassional
watering hole visited by kangaroos and other native wildlife.
The walk takes in farming country, historic towns, the famous
wine areas of the Clare and Barossa Valleys, forests and Natonal
Parks.

This annual Rotary Club charity event
at Alice Springs has developed a real cult following. Features
waterless boat races and warship battles all held in the famous
dry bed of the Todd River, where human horsepower propels
bottomless boats amid much good humour.

days off road cycling along the Mawson Trail from Adelaide
to Wilpena Pound. The Mini Mawson: 6 days off road road cycling
from Clare Valley to Wilpena Pound. The Woolshed Ramble: 5
days on road cycling from Clare Valley wine district to Wilpena
Pound. Culminating in a 5 day celebration of cycling, music,
food and wine.
Eclipse
in the Outback, Ceduna, South Australia
4 December 2002
The Eclipse path begins on 4 December
and will make its Australian landfall at Ceduna Lake late
in the afernoon. The path ot totality then heads north east
across the South Australian Outback before leaving the Earth's
surface east of Lake Blanche. The only towns in the path of
totality are Ceduna and Lyndhurst (Northern Flinders). Totality
passes south of the towns of Andamooka, Glendambo and Roxby
Downs and North of Leigh Creek and Woomera.

Gay Games VI is an international sports
festival, a cultural festival and a festival of ideas open
to all people and requires no minimum standards for entry.The
Games are for straight, gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual
people and are not about winning but rather, participating
and achieving your personal best whilst having fun.The games
and festival will be held at various sport and cultural venues
in the Sydney region, including some at Olympic Park and the
Homebush Sports Centre.
